We don’t cover Actxa often enough here. Along with another similar-sounding local brand—Axtro—they’ve traditionally provided the fitness trackers that were part of the Health Promotion Board’s National Steps Challenge programme over the years. If you’ve ever taken part, used the Healthy 365 app and collected the free fitness tracker, you’ve likely used an Actxa product before. They are lesser known outside of this, and the brand’s last product, the Spark+ Series 2 activity tracker, came out in 2023.
So, it was a little surprising to see Actxa pop up in my mailbox this week with a brand new smart ring, and it actually looks like a flagship-level product, unlike the brand’s previous budget-oriented offerings.
The Actxa Core smart ring features a super-sleek aerospace-grade titanium build, is ultra-sleek at just 2.2mm thin and practically feather-weight at 2.5g-3.3g (depending on ring size). You get all the usual tracking capabilities like all-day SP02 monitoring, heart rate variability (HRV) and stress, advanced sleep monitoring, and a triple temperature sensor array.
What’s unique about the Core smart ring is integration of Actxa’s own proprietary technology called BGEM, which is a clinically proven, AI-driven, non-invasive technology that can help detect early diabetic risk. It also features Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity (MVPA) tracking with Intensity Minutes, and supposedly recognises daily activity progression.
The ring features a LiPo battery that can up to 5-days of use and 5 ATM water resistance. The Actxa Core smart ring will be priced as S$349, launching late August 2025.
